CBD - CBG
The Basics & Benefits of CBD
CBD (cannabidiol) is a therapeutic non-intoxicating compound produced by cannabis. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system which is a complex signaling system that ensures our bodies maintain homeostasis. CBD encourages production of the body’s natural endocannabinoids and influences cannabinoid receptor activity.
CBD is legal in The United States and is currently being used to treat those suffering from seizures, chronic
pain, anxiety, insomnia, neurodegenerative disorders, and cancer. CBD can also lower blood pressure
and heart rate so it is important to consult your physician before starting CBD to ensure no drug to drug interaction concerns may be present.

Farm to Market:
NOT ALL CBD is created equal.
5 things to consider before buying.
1. Make sure it has a Certificate of Analysis (COA) - This is REALLY important because it’s a document from an accredited lab that tells you the quality of the CBD. All reputable companies have them.
2. CO2 Extraction method. This is the safest and most reliable method for obtaining pure CBD.
3. Organically Grown- Hemp plants absorb everything in the soil. (Good AND Bad)
4. Grown in the USA! 80% of CBD sold in our country comes from hemp grown in China.
5. Is the oil from the hemp flowers ONLY or the stalks, stems and seeds (aerial parts). The flower has the most CBD and health benefits.

CBG – Another beneficial compound in cannabis.
Cannabigerol, or CBG, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid molecule typically most abundant in low-THC and high-CBD cannabis strains, including hemp. CBG reacts with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain, like THC.
CBG has shown to have antibacterial effects in its acidic form, CBGA, and it is known to kill or slow bacterial growth and reduce inflammation. It can also regulate mood and mitigates disease related pain. CBG acts as a low-affinity antagonist at the CB1 receptor and has shown to inhibit cell growth in tumor/cancer cells, and promote bone growth as well. CBG can also be used to slow the proliferation of cancer cells in addition to significantly reducing intraocular eye pressure caused by glaucoma.
CBG should be decarboxylated just like THC and CBD when looking to use it for food infusions.

CBD Microdosing for pain.
Microdosing is the practice of consuming small amounts/levels of cannabis consistently throughout the day to receive continual health benefits over a period of time.
It is important for new cannabis users to find their appropriate dose, and micro-dosing is a safe way to see what dose is best for their specific level of pain. When CBD is consumed throughout the day in small amounts it can enhance the endocannabinoid system and enable pain relief for longer periods of time.
THC can also be used when microdosing for pain. The 10:1 ratio of CBD to THC is a common dosing when consuming both compounds.
